Kids’ Church & Nursery Care
Kids’ Church and Nursery Care are held each Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. and run through the end of the church service. They provide supervision and a safe, fun, and educational learning environment for nursery, pre-K and K-6 grade children.
The Kids’ Church curriculum is taught by volunteer parent and non-parent adult teachers, and it combines lectionary-based lessons with enhancements developed by our volunteer teachers. Children’s Chapel for pre-K through 1st grade is always part of our offering each Sunday.
During the 10 a.m. worship service, infants through age 2 are looked after in the nursery by a paid caregiver and teen assistants. The nursery is located on the lower level of the Church School building, below the classrooms and next to the choir room.
The Cathedral Choir (Children’s Choir) is an educational youth choir for treble voices in grades one through eight. This ensemble invites youth from in and around the Milton area to learn about the fundamentals of music within the church, utilizing the Royal School of Church Music curriculum. The ensemble performs at Family Services and special services throughout the year, including the Lessons and Carols service and the family Easter service.
Confirmation is a rite of the church that reflects a “mature public affirmation of…faith and commitment to [the] responsibilities of Baptism” for those who have prepared themselves and decided that they are called to a life of faith. Confirmation Class is approximately every other week on Sunday afternoons in the Upper Parish Hall, in addition to scheduled community service in the fall, winter and spring. Beginning in September 2016, Confirmation Class will be available for folks in 9th grade and above. Please contact the Rector for more information.
There are no Kids’ Church, Cathedral Choir or Confirmation Classes in the summer.
