On Thursday, July 28th, the City of Boston will hold a “Housing Surge” at the Laboure Center, 275 West Broadway in South Boston. A housing surge is a new initiative that eliminates red tape and bureaucracy in the housing application process by inviting eligible people to gather with housing specialists to complete housing applications in one day at one location. Ordinarily, applications can take months, and many visits to various locations to collect all the necessary paperwork. You can help by serving as an ambassador and guiding un-housed neighbors find a place to call home. This housing surge is a tremendous opportunity for chronically homeless individuals to make great headway on the journey to stable housing!
Volunteer hours are Thursday, July 28th, from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is a one-hour phone training prior to the event. For more information about the housing surge, or to volunteer, contact Libby Gatti at 978-335-7375, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Rev. Hall Kirkham at the church office 617-698-1813,email@example.com.
This is your opportunity to connect with individuals and make a lasting and meaningful impact in our community!
